Occasionally, I’ll explore methods of making money online without having experience with it myself. Generally, I only like to pass on things I’ve tried, so that you get the benefit of my experience. Sometimes, though, I know citizens who have the experience that I don’t, and I will occasionally allow them to guest post here. That’s the case today. The following is a guest post by Thomas Gajdjis on the subject of blog flipping. Blog flipping is a process I may play with by the next few months, so it seems like a good day to introduce the topic. Here’s Tom!
Blog Flipping
Guest Post by: Thomas Gajdjis
I have been online making money since 2003. Since that day, I have seen many ways of making money come and go. I don’t buy into the latest fads, particularly when I am building my business. I heard that some World Wide Web Marketers were making big money flipping websites. I personally don’t buy into hype from the “gurus”, so I had to check it out and prove it for myself.
Technically, website flipping is a process that involves finding a website that has potential and purchasing it, fixing it up and thereupon selling it for a profit. That was too many steps for me so I decided to shorten up the process a bit to manufacture it simpler.
The aftereffect is what I signal blog flipping. First off, we build the blog, we don’t go looking for one. Second, I decided to use the blog as the platform of choice. Why did I choose blogs instead of traditional websites? There are many reasons, but here are the most crucial ones:
- Setting up the blog takes only minutes.
- There are many free themes available which assemble your blog look great. that is fundamental for high resale value.
- There are many free plug-ins to engage your visitors and to monetize the blog and to grow a customer list.
- It is really easy to update the blog with new substance. that is fundamental for the sale as non-techie business folks want product, not hassle.
- Search engines love blogs.
I put together a weight loss blog, outfitted it with a great theme and wrote 15 articles for it. I next went to SitePoint.com and listed it for sale. The auction was successful and my buyer bought additional services from me.
My experiment proved to me that that was a profitable, viable, repeatable business model. I have added it to my income streams. I have a free write-up of the experiment here: www.blogflippingfool.com. I additionally created a paid version that shows you how to build a business by flipping blogs. All my resources are included and I actually expose my 5 favorite niches!
